Chip Evans, Administrator

cevans@highview.org

Chip Evans is the Administrator at Highview.  Chip and his wife Paula have three children, Mallory, Grace and Avery.  They moved to Louisville in 2005 from Atlanta, GA so that Chip could attend Southern Seminary.

Paula is a native of Atlanta who attended Mercer University.  Chip grew up in Watkinsville, GA which is only one county from Athens – the home of the University of Georgia.  Although a huge fan of UGA, Chip attended Southern Polytechnic State University in Atlanta where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering.

Chip spent nearly twenty years in the business world in Atlanta while also actively involved in their local church in missions, evangelism and church planting.  Prior to becoming Highview’s Administrator, Chip owned and ran a commercial construction company for eight years.

In addition to handling all the administration responsibilities at Highview, Chip also provides oversight for our mission ministry and coordinates outreach for East Campus where he and his family attend.  Chip and Paula also teach the Young Professional Adult Bible Fellowship class at East Campus each Sunday morning.

Chip’s favorite personal activity is simply hanging out with his family, watching movies and site-seeing.  But when Chip just needs some guy-time, he and his son Avery love to ride dirt bikes.  Chip and Avery go to a 500 acre dirt bike riding club in Bedford, KY for a day of fun.

The father of three was 12-years-old when he accepted Christ as his Savior. “I remember going down front at the small country church we attended in Watkinsville and putting my trust in Jesus Christ.  As a child I always tried to do the right things – things that would please God and my parents.  As a teenager I was involved in the youth program at Watkinsville First Baptist.  Despite the fact that I stayed involved in church throughout high school and college years, I remained immature in my faith due to a lack of an intentional discipleship plan.  No one ever taught me how to grow as a Christian.  I met Paula in 1986 and during our courtship we attended church together during which time I really began to grow individually and we grew as a couple.  It was during the early years as an adult that God grew me spiritually, as I learned to read His Word and share my faith.  God was preparing me for His call to full time ministry which happened as a result of participating in a short term mission trip to Africa.  Since that first trip in 2001, I’ve been on six more international trips to share Christ in the uttermost parts of the world.  Knowing Christ as my savior has been life changing.”
