Jeff Goodyear, Minister to Children
Jeff Goodyear is the Minister to Children at Highview. He and his team lead the preschool and elementary ministries at all of our campuses.
Jeff and his wife Janna have three children—including two teenage sons. William is a special needs child that has Angelman Syndrome. Paul is a big sports fan. The Goodyear’s recently adopted Christy from Guatemala.
After graduating from Flat Rock High School in Flat Rock, Michigan, Jeff earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Kentucky and a master’s degree in engineering management from the University of Tennessee. He also has a master’s degree in Christian Education from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Before settling in Louisville, Jeff lived in Ohio, Tennessee and Michigan. After a 14 year career with GE, Jeff felt God called him to full-time ministry. Jeff puts his engineering degrees to good use accomplishing home improvement projects and trying to improve his golf game.
Jeff can easily identify with youngsters who experience a spiritual awakening early in life. “I grew up going to church and being involved in children’s ministry. I was 9-years-old when I came to know Christ as my savior. I’m blessed to have the privilege of leading our children’s ministry at Highview. I get to see children and their families come to know Christ as their savior and grow in their relationships with him.”
