Kevin Ezell, Senior Pastor
Dr. Kevin Ezell is the Senior Pastor of Highview Baptist Church. He and his wife Lynette have five children: Anna, Shelly, Taylor, Libby, and Micah Lyn.
Kevin was born in Germany where his father was serving in the Air Force, “The American Air Force,” the Pastor points out.
He was graduated from Lone Oak High School in Paducah. He has earned an undergraduate degree from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, a Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, and a Doctorate of Ministry from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville.
Kevin attended college on a tennis scholarship. His athletic endeavors are now focused on golf, basketball, and attending sporting events.
Brother Kevin’s first role as pastor came at Hilltop Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. “When they voted me in as pastor, it was unanimous---seven-nothing!”
Dr. Ezell pastored First Baptist Church, Hartsville, Tennessee from 1989-91, First Baptist Church, Marion, Illinois from 1991-96. He was called as the pastor of Highview Baptist Church in June of 1996.
Since that time, the Lord has grown Highview into six campuses in two states and three counties.
Brother Kevin has also served as the Chairman of the Nominating Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention.
At Midwestern Seminary in Kansas City, he served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
His alma mater, Union University invited Ezell to serve on the school’s Board of Reference.
Currently, the Pastor serves on the Advisory Council at Boyce College.
